Russian President Vladimir Putin shot down claims that the West and Russia are in a cold war as propaganda, according to a report Thursday.

The individuals who have said that a new cold war has started are not really analysts, they do propaganda, Putin told NBCs Megyn Kelly Thursday. If you were to speak about arms race, then an arms race began exactly the time and moment when the U.S. opted out of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty.

His remarks came after he claimed at his State of the Nation address that Russia had nuclear weapons, including an intercontinental missile that would render defense systems useless.

Putin said some of the weapons have been tested and were provided to the Russian military.

The test was excellent, he told NBC News. Some of them still have to be fine-tuned and worked on. Others are already available to the troops and already are battle-ready. One of them is already on combat duty. Its with troops.
