With large fandoms comes great responsibility.
“Suits” star Patrick J. Adams learned the hard way that he’s got to be careful what he posts on social media, especially now that co-star Meghan Markle’s in a high-profile relationship with Prince Harry.
In a recent interview with Esquire the actor, who plays Mike Ross on the show, admitted he quit social media after facing backlash from fans over a throwback photo he shared of Markle on set.
“I posted this old photo I had found of Meghan and I on set,” he recalled of a photo that showed the actress planting a kiss on his cheek. “I went to bed, and woke up in the morning and realized ‘Oh, yeah. I live in a world where you can’t post things about Meghan.'”

Adams, 36, maintained that the picture was “an innocent moment of sentimentality,” though fans didn’t seem to view it as such.
“It made me feel likewhy put myself through this? We’re like brother and sister, it’s not like it was lurid or anything, but it just became a story that people wanted to talk about,” he said of the controversy.
The “Suits” star isn’t ruling out a return to social media one day, but right now he’s enjoying life off the grid.
Markle, who’s basking in relationship bliss, knows this privacy struggle all too well.

The actress recently opened up to Vanity Fair about her whirlwind romance with the 32-year-old royal, confirming that they are “a couple” and are “in love.”
She added, however, that they’re trying to keep as much of their relationship as possible under wraps to preserve the magic.
“I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time,” she said.
“This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story.”
