Minchin did not give a timeline for Karls anticipated comeback.

The Saturday matinee was canceled.

This is the sort of thing you dare not even fear, Minchin said. I hope this is a night you will be able to say, I was there when, hopefully in a good way. This is why theater is amazing. Theater is live and its real and the stakes are high.

Karl suffered a painful injury during the second act on Friday night butfinished the performance using a crutch. An audience member told The Post at the time that Karl, a two-time Tony nominee, was cryingand looked to be in a lot of pain. He was favoring his left leg.

Saturday was Calls first performance as weatherman Phil Connors, the character made famous by Bill Murray in the 1993 film. Actor Jordan Grubb took on Calls usual role, and in doing so made his Broadway debut.

This is what these guys train for and what they dream-slash-nightmare about, Minchin said.

As for Calls debut performance as Phil, one audience member told us he was fabulous.
