A 16-year-old runaway from Australia flew to Los Angeles and was driven across the country by a career criminal who had sex with her before police busted him in Queens, police sources said Friday.
When the NYPD showed up at Sean Prices Jamaica home Thursday his mother said he and the teen werent around. That wasnt true.
The duo, who initially met on Snapchat, were leaving through a back door but ran back inside when they saw cops, sources said.
Price, 39, was arrested for statutory rape, acting in a manner injurious to a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child nude pictures of the girl, sources said. He is expected to be arraigned in Brooklyn Federal Court Friday afternoon.
The teen wired him $1917.88 on Dec. 2, sources said.
She flew from Sydney to Los Angeles on April 11 but skipped her April 25 return flight, sources said.
Price flew to Los Angeles April 10 and when the teen arrived he rented a car and drove her back east, arriving in the city on April 16, sources said.
The NYPD got involved on April 30 when they were notified by both Interpol and Australian authorities about the teen, who suffers from anxiety and was also having family problems, sources said.
The teen told police she had sex with Price but that she was not forced into prostitution, sources said. She also took steps to avoid being found by mailing her cellphones SIM card to New York.
Price has 27 prior arrests, sources said.
