ORLANDO – Another highly-touted Baby Bomber could push for a starting job for Opening Day 2018.

Brian Cashman said Gleyber Torres, who is currently wrapping up his rehab from Tommy John surgery on his left elbow, is a candidate to start at third base. The Yankees GM described the position as Chase Headleys to defend.

Its amazing how the days go by so fast I cant wait for the next spring. Torres tweeted Tuesday.

Torres, who turns 21 in December, ended 2017 as MLB.coms top prospect.
